Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EgyVax is an inactivated whole-virus vaccine developed to provide prophylaxis against COVID-19. It contains killed SARS-CoV-2 virus particles, designed to elicit an immune response without causing disease. The vaccine was developed by EVA Pharma for Pharmaceuticals & Medical Appliances SAE, with manufacturing support from VACSERA (the Holding Company for Biological Products and Vaccines) in Egypt. Preclinical studies demonstrated immunogenicity and safety in animal models, and a phase 1 clinical trial has been conducted to assess its safety and immunogenicity in humans[2][3][7][10]. The vaccine is administered intramuscularly.
