Overview

EHOP-097 is a novel small molecule inhibitor of the Rho GTPases Rac1 and Cdc42, currently under preclinical investigation for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. Developed by researchers at the University of Puerto Rico, the compound is designed to target the signaling pathways involved in cell migration, adhesion, and division, which are critical for cancer metastasis. Preclinical data presented at AACR 2025 indicates that EHOP-097 is particularly effective against androgen receptor (AR)-negative prostate cancer cells, suggesting its potential utility in treating hormone-independent, metastatic disease where standard androgen deprivation therapies often fail. It is part of a series of compounds, including MBQ-167 and MBQ-168, aimed at inhibiting Rho GTPase-mediated mechanotransduction and metastatic potential.
