Overview

EHT102 is a dual-vector gene therapy product developed by Shanghai Euhearing Therapeutics Co., Ltd for the treatment of congenital hearing loss caused by biallelic mutations in the OTOF gene, a condition known as DFNB9. The OTOF gene encodes otoferlin, a calcium-sensitive protein essential for neurotransmitter release at the synapses of inner hair cells in the cochlea. Because the OTOF coding sequence is too large for a single adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector, EHT102 utilizes a dual-vector system to deliver the full-length genetic material. The therapy is administered via a unilateral intracochlear injection, aiming to restore functional otoferlin expression and recover auditory signaling in pediatric patients.
