EI-001

EI-001 is a fully human monoclonal antibody that neutralizes interferon-gamma (IFNG). It was originally isolated as an autoantibody from a human subject using single B cell antibody technology. The drug is being developed primarily for the treatment of hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), a life-threatening immunological disorder characterized by excessive interferon-gamma production, and has also been investigated in other immunological conditions such as vitiligo and chronic hepatitis B. EI-001 has received Orphan Drug Designation from the FDA for HLH. Its mechanism of action involves binding to and neutralizing IFNG, thereby modulating immune responses driven by this cytokine[2][3][5].
