eIF3b siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) research compound designed to silence the expression of the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 subunit b (eIF3b). As a key scaffolding component of the eIF3 complex, eIF3b is essential for the initiation of protein translation and has been found to be overexpressed in numerous cancers, including bladder, prostate, and gastric malignancies. By utilizing the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, eIF3b siRNA mediates the degradation of EIF3B mRNA, leading to reduced protein levels. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that this knockdown inhibits cell proliferation, induces G1 cell cycle arrest, and suppresses migration and metastasis by modulating downstream signaling pathways such as FAK and Akt. It is widely used as a laboratory tool to study the role of translation initiation in disease progression.
