Overview

EIK1003 is an orally administered small molecule that acts as a highly selective inhibitor of poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 (PARP1), an enzyme involved in DNA repair. By selectively inhibiting PARP1 and sparing PARP2, EIK1003 aims to induce cancer cell death by preventing the repair of DNA damage while potentially reducing the hematologic toxicity associated with non-selective PARP inhibitors. The drug is being developed for the treatment of advanced solid tumors—including breast cancer (HER2-negative), epithelial ovarian cancer, fallopian tube or primary peritoneal cancer, metastatic prostate cancer (both castration-resistant and castration-sensitive), and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma—particularly in patients with deleterious mutations in genes such as BRCA1/2 or other homologous recombination repair genes. EIK1003 is currently undergoing Phase 1/2 clinical trials led by Eikon Therapeutics in collaboration with Impact Therapeutics[1][4][5][7][8].
