Overview
Ejiao Composite Syrup is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Dongzhimen Hospital, affiliated with the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. It is specifically designed to treat diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) and related female reproductive health issues. The syrup is a multi-ingredient preparation featuring Ejiao (Colla Corii Asini) as its primary component, combined with other herbs such as Rehmannia glutinosa and Angelica sinensis. Its pharmacological action is centered on the regulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian (HPO) axis, where it helps balance serum levels of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), and estradiol (E2). Additionally, it has been shown to improve ovarian blood flow and inhibit the apoptosis of ovarian granulosa cells, thereby enhancing follicular development and overall fertility potential in women with declining ovarian function.
