Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ekoflor Complex (also known as Ekoflor) is a next-generation probiotic and enterosorbent dietary supplement developed by the Russian biotechnology company Vector-BiAlgam. It consists of a consortium of ten active strains of bifidobacteria (including *Bifidobacterium bifidum* and *Bifidobacterium longum*) and lactobacilli (including *Lactobacillus acidophilus*, *Lactobacillus plantarum*, and *Lactobacillus casei*) reversibly immobilized on a carbon-mineral enterosorbent carrier (SUMS-1). This unique co-formulation provides a dual therapeutic effect: the enterosorbent component selectively adsorbs and removes bacterial toxins, heavy metals, and xenobiotics from the gastrointestinal tract without disrupting water-salt balance, while the immobilized probiotic strains are protected from gastric acid, allowing them to safely reach the intestines to suppress pathogenic microflora, restore healthy microbiota, and support digestive and immunological functions. Ekoflor Complex is indicated for the treatment and prevention of antibiotic-associated dysbiosis, intestinal dysbacteriosis, food poisoning, chronic gastrointestinal diseases, acute and chronic hepatitis, allergies, immunodeficiencies, and the mitigation of side effects from oncology radiation and chemotherapy.
