Overview

EKZ-317 is a potent and selective small molecule inhibitor of histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) developed by Eikonizo Therapeutics. It is designed for high blood-brain barrier penetration and target occupancy, making it suitable for treating central nervous system disorders. Preclinically, EKZ-317 has been used to validate HDAC6-targeted PET imaging technology and has shown potential in models of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), frontotemporal dementia (FTD), and Alzheimer's disease. Although it exhibits favorable pharmacological properties, Eikonizo's lead clinical development program currently focuses on EKZ-102, with EKZ-317 serving as a key research and discovery compound in their pipeline.
