Drug intelligence / Profile preview
El Jefe (also known as Jefe OG) is an Indica-dominant medical cannabis cultivar (70% Indica / 30% Sativa) crossed from Abusive OG and Rare Dankness #1. Distributed by Cannamedical Pharma, it is available as medical cannabis flower, oral capsules, and full-spectrum extracts. The strain is characterized by a high tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content (ranging from 20% to 28%) and low cannabidiol (CBD) content (<1%). El Jefe acts primarily as a partial agonist at cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2, producing deep physical relaxation and sedative effects. In Germany, it is prescribed for the management of chronic and neuropathic pain in patients who have not responded adequately to standard therapies, and is also utilized off-label for sleep disorders, anxiety, and headaches.
