Overview

ELAPR002 is a clinical-stage intradermal implant composed of recombinant human tropoelastin cross-linked with derivatized hyaluronic acid. Developed by Elastagen (acquired by Allergan, now part of AbbVie), it is designed to treat atrophic acne scars and other skin conditions by restoring the natural extracellular matrix and improving skin elasticity. The technology utilizes a proprietary platform to produce human tropoelastin, the soluble precursor of elastin, which provides the skin with its resilience and recoil properties. The product is administered as an intradermal injection to provide both immediate volume and long-term tissue repair.
