Overview

Elastase enteric tablets contain elastase, a serine protease typically extracted from porcine pancreas. The enteric coating is designed to protect the enzyme from degradation by gastric acid, ensuring its release in the small intestine. Clinically, it is primarily indicated for the treatment of hyperlipidemia and the prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis. The enzyme works by degrading elastin in the arterial wall and influencing lipid metabolism, which leads to a reduction in serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels while improving arterial elasticity and vascular compliance. InnoShengKang (Changzhou Qianhong Bio-pharma) is a major developer and manufacturer of this approved pharmaceutical product in China.
