ELASTIderm

ELASTIderm is a branded line of topical dermatologic products from Obagi that are marketed to improve skin elasticity, firmness, and the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and photodamage on the face, periocular area, neck, and chest. The core ELASTIderm formulations use Obagi’s Bi-Mineral Contour Complex, a proprietary combination of zinc, copper, and malonate, along with malonic acid and hydrating excipients, to support the formation and maintenance of functional elastin fibers in the dermis and to gently promote exfoliation, thereby enhancing skin firmness and texture.[7][8][12] Within the line, there is also an ELASTIderm Decolletage Skin Lightening Complex that contains 4% hydroquinone, which inhibits tyrosinase-dependent melanin synthesis to reversibly depigment hyperpigmented lesions such as sun-induced dyschromias on the chest and neck.[1][5][15] These products are used topically in aesthetic and dermatologic practice but, except for the hydroquinone prescription preparation, are generally positioned as cosmeceutical skincare rather than regulated systemic pharmaceuticals.
