Overview

**ELB021** is a first-in-class monoclonal antibody targeting CD160, a cell-surface receptor that regulates innate and adaptive immune responses, neo-angiogenesis, and serves as a tumor antigen on cancer cells, particularly in B-cell leukemias. Developed by Elsalys Biotech (in-licensed from Inserm Transfert), it combines complementary mechanisms including anti-angiogenic effects, immunomodulation, stimulation of anti-tumor immune responses, and selective elimination of CD160-expressing cancer cells to improve the efficacy-toxicity ratio in oncology. It is in preclinical development for B-cell malignancies such as chronic lymphoid leukemia (CLL) and hairy-cell leukemia (HCL), with a collaboration involving DKFZ funded by the EU Eurostars program aiming for proof-of-concept data to support first-in-human trials planned around 2020.[1][3][5][11]
