Eldelumab (BMS-936557) is a fully human IgG1 kappa monoclonal antibody that targets the chemokine CXCL10 (also known as Interferon-γ-inducible protein 10 or IP-10). By binding to CXCL10, eldelumab inhibits its interaction with the CXCR3 receptor and blocks IP-10-induced chemotaxis of activated T cells. This mechanism is intended to reduce inflammatory cell migration and modulate immune responses in diseases characterized by elevated CXCL10 levels. Eldelumab was developed for the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory conditions such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and spinal cord injuries. Clinical trials demonstrated safety but did not meet primary efficacy endpoints in ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease[1][2][4][5][6].
