Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Eldervit is an India‑marketed multivitamin and mineral combination product from Elder Pharmaceuticals that is positioned as a prescription nutraceutical to treat and prevent nutritional deficiencies, anemia, and vitamin B‑complex and vitamin C deficiency states, and to support energy, red blood cell production, and nervous system function.[1][2][3][4][5][7][8][9][11][12][15][18] Formulations (capsules, injections, drops, syrups, gel capsules, sachets, and variants such as Eldervit 12 Combipack and Eldervit Red/ZC) commonly contain methylcobalamin (vitamin B12), folic acid, niacinamide, vitamin C (ascorbic acid), and sometimes vitamin B6 and other B‑complex components; these act as cofactors in one‑carbon transfer reactions, DNA synthesis, erythropoiesis, and energy metabolism and provide antioxidant effects, thereby correcting underlying vitamin deficiencies rather than acting on a single pharmacologic receptor target.[1][3][5][7][9][11][12][15][17][18] Clinically it is used in conditions such as anemia (including B12/folate‑related anemia), general nutritional deficiency, neuropathies related to B12 deficiency, and nonspecific fatigue, and is generally well tolerated with possible gastrointestinal or injection‑site reactions.[1][3][5][7][8][9][11][12][17]
