Eldotel

Eldotel is a branded generic version of telmisartan, a small molecule angiotensin II receptor antagonist (ARB) used for the management of essential hypertension and the reduction of cardiovascular risk in adults. It works by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor in vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal gland, which results in vasodilation and a reduction in aldosterone secretion, thereby lowering blood pressure. Beyond its primary antihypertensive effect, telmisartan is also known to act as a partial agonist of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR-gamma), which may contribute to beneficial metabolic effects. Eldotel is marketed by El Dorado Bio Tech Pvt Ltd (Eldora) and is available in oral tablet strengths of 20mg and 40mg.
