Overview

Electrofusion dendritic cell (DC) vaccines are a form of cancer immunotherapy in which patient-derived or allogeneic dendritic cells are fused with tumor cells using an electric field (electrofusion). This process creates hybrid cells that combine the antigen-presenting capabilities of DCs with the full spectrum of tumor antigens from the tumor cells. The resulting hybrids can efficiently stimulate T-cell responses against multiple tumor antigens, potentially leading to a more robust and broad anti-tumor immune response compared to conventional methods. Electrofusion technology allows for standardized and large-scale production of these vaccines. The primary indication is cancer immunotherapy, particularly for solid tumors such as melanoma[6].
