ELF4 siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the expression of the E74-like ETS transcription factor 4 (ELF4). ELF4 is a member of the ETS family of transcription factors and has been implicated in the progression of various cancers, including endometrial cancer. By targeting ELF4 mRNA for degradation, ELF4 siRNA reduces the levels of ELF4 protein, which in turn inhibits the interaction between ELF4 and tribbles pseudokinase 3 (TRIB3). This interaction is known to regulate the expression of downstream targets such as CDK6 and β-catenin, which are critical for cell cycle progression, proliferation, and the maintenance of cancer stem cell (CSC) activity. In preclinical models of endometrial cancer, treatment with ELF4 siRNA has been shown to attenuate tumor growth, migration, and invasion.
