Overview
Elfedase (also spelled Elferdaase) is an oral fixed-dose combination tablet manufactured by Captab Biotec. It contains three active ingredients: aceclofenac (100 mg), paracetamol (325 mg), and serratiopeptidase (15 mg). Aceclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis responsible for pain and inflammation. Paracetamol acts centrally as an analgesic and antipyretic to relieve pain and reduce fever. Serratiopeptidase is a proteolytic enzyme with anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties that helps reduce swelling and tissue inflammation by breaking down abnormal proteins at the site of injury. Together, this triple-combination tablet is used to treat pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, sprains, and post-operative inflammation.
