Eligen B12

**Eligen B12** is a once-daily oral prescription medical-food tablet developed by Emisphere Technologies for dietary management of medically diagnosed vitamin B12 deficiency that cannot be managed through diet alone. It contains cyanocobalamin and salcaprozate sodium, also called SNAC, an oral permeation enhancer used in Eligen Technology to facilitate vitamin B12 absorption through the gastric lining independently of intrinsic factor. The product was launched commercially in the United States in 2015 and was subsequently listed as off market effective November 1, 2023.
