Elimax

Elimax is an over-the-counter, non-neurotoxic pediculicide line used to treat and prevent head lice (Pediculus humanus capitis) infestations and their eggs (nits). The products (shampoos and lotions) use specially developed polymer or oligodecene/bio-alkane oils, sometimes combined with beeswax, to exert a purely physical mechanism: they suffocate lice by blocking their respiratory spiracles and dehydrate both lice and nits by disrupting the protective lipid layer of the cuticle, thereby killing all life stages without conventional insecticides or dimethicone.[5][6][13][17] The formulations also incorporate a patented LPF complex of polymers and lipophilic substances that reduces hair’s static charge, makes hair surfaces difficult for lice to grasp, and acts as a repellant, providing short-term protection against reinfestation.[5][6][15][17] Elimax is developed and marketed by Oystershell as a consumer health product and is sold in multiple European and international markets for the management and prophylaxis of head lice infestations in children and adults.[2][4][12][14]
