Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ELOVL3 small interfering RNA is a double-stranded RNA molecule designed to silence the expression of the ELOVL3 (elongation of very long chain fatty acids-like 3) gene via RNA interference. ELOVL3 is an endoplasmic reticulum-bound enzyme that catalyzes the elongation of saturated and monounsaturated very-long-chain fatty acids (VLCFAs). In preclinical research conducted by Toho University, ELOVL3 siRNA was investigated for its potential to mitigate sleep deprivation-induced hepatic steatosis and improve glucose tolerance by suppressing hepatic lipid accumulation.
