Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ELPIS human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells injection is an allogeneic, off-the-shelf stem cell therapy developed by Huaxia Yuan Cell Engineering Group (also known as Huaxiayuan (Shanghai) Biotechnology). The therapy utilizes human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hUC-MSCs) which possess high proliferative capacity, low immunogenicity, and potent immunomodulatory and regenerative properties. ELPIS is designed to treat various autoimmune, inflammatory, and degenerative conditions. Its mechanism of action involves regulating the Th17/Treg immune balance, suppressing inflammatory cytokines, and secreting paracrine factors (such as VEGF, bFGF, HGF, and IL-6) that promote tissue repair, angiogenesis, and inhibit fibrosis. The drug is being evaluated in clinical trials in China for several indications, including moderate-to-severe chronic plaque psoriasis, lupus nephritis, acute-on-chronic (subacute) liver failure, moderate-to-severe intrauterine adhesions (uterine synechiae), and active inflammatory bowel disease.
