Eltrapuldencel-T is an autologous dendritic cell-based immunotherapy developed for the treatment of malignant melanoma. The therapy involves harvesting a patient's own dendritic cells and loading them *ex vivo* with antigens derived from self-renewing, proliferating, irradiated autologous tumor cells. These antigen-loaded dendritic cells are then administered to the patient in combination with granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) to stimulate an immune response against tumor-associated antigens unique to the individual's cancer. The mechanism of action is immunostimulation via presentation of tumor antigens by dendritic cells, leading to activation of T lymphocytes and induction of anti-tumor immunity. Eltrapuldencel-T was granted orphan drug status for malignant melanoma and received special protocol assessment (SPA) and fast track designation from the FDA. Development was discontinued after termination of a phase III trial in late-stage malignant melanoma[1][2][3][4].
