Overview

ELU511 is a novel small-molecule inhibitor of the canonical Wnt signaling pathway, currently in preclinical development by Eluciderm for the enhancement of closed surgical wound healing. By inhibiting Wnt signaling—a pathway typically activated during injury that promotes fibrotic scarring—ELU511 encourages regenerative tissue repair, aiming to restore functional skin architecture including hair follicles and sweat glands. Preclinical studies in porcine models have demonstrated that topical application of ELU511 (0.1% serum) significantly improves wound tensile strength and cosmetic outcomes compared to saline controls. Additionally, the compound exhibits bacteriostatic properties, which may help prevent surgical site infections.
