Overview

ELU643 is a small molecule inhibitor of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) currently under development by Eluciderm. It is identified as a National Cancer Institute (NCI) candidate molecule, alongside other compounds in the ELU series. The drug is being investigated for its therapeutic potential in treating hematologic malignancies, specifically leukemia, and solid tumors, specifically malignant melanoma. By inhibiting PARP enzymes, ELU643 disrupts the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway, preventing the repair of single-strand DNA breaks and leading to genomic instability and selective apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells.
