Overview

Eluvixtamab is a recombinant bispecific T-cell engager (BiTE) antibody composed of two single-chain variable fragments (scFv): one directed against the tumor-associated antigen CD33 and the other against the CD3 antigen on T lymphocytes. By simultaneously binding to CD33 on malignant cells and CD3 on T-cells, eluvixtamab redirects cytotoxic T lymphocytes to target and kill CD33-expressing cancer cells, primarily in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The drug was developed by Amgen and BeiGene for immunostimulatory and antineoplastic purposes but its clinical development for AML has been discontinued[1][3][4].
