Overview

EM1034 is a preclinical bispecific antibody developed by EpimAb Biotherapeutics using its proprietary FIT-Ig (Fabs-In-Tandem Immunoglobulin) platform. The molecule is designed to simultaneously target Lymphocyte Antigen 6 Family Member G6D (LY6G6D) and the CD3 receptor on T-cells. LY6G6D is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored protein that is highly and specifically overexpressed in a significant majority of colorectal cancers (CRC) while maintaining very low expression in normal tissues, making it a promising tumor-associated antigen. By binding both the tumor antigen and the T-cell receptor complex, EM1034 acts as a T-cell engager, facilitating the formation of an immunological synapse that redirects cytotoxic T-lymphocyte activity to induce the lysis of LY6G6D-expressing cancer cells. The FIT-Ig platform allows for the construction of bispecifics with drug-like properties similar to conventional monoclonal antibodies.
