Overview

EMAC4006 is a small molecule sunitinib analogue and an isatin-dihydropyrazole derivative developed for the treatment of cancer, specifically pancreatic adenocarcinoma. It was designed to overcome the high resistance to chemotherapy typically seen in pancreatic cancer by targeting pathways involved in cell viability, colony formation, and migration. In preclinical in vitro models using MIA PaCa-2 and PANC-1 cell lines, EMAC4006 demonstrated significant anticancer activity under both normoxic and hypoxic conditions, showing higher potency than sunitinib in reducing cell viability. As a derivative of sunitinib, it is intended to function as a multi-kinase inhibitor, potentially targeting receptor tyrosine kinases involved in tumor angiogenesis and proliferation, such as VEGFR and PDGFR.
