EMAC4017 is a small molecule sunitinib analogue belonging to the isatin-dihydropyrazole chemical class. It was developed as part of a series of compounds aimed at improving the anticancer activity of sunitinib, particularly for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. In preclinical studies using human pancreatic cancer cell lines such as MIA PaCa-2 and PANC-1, EMAC4017 was evaluated for its ability to reduce cell viability and inhibit cell migration under both normoxic and hypoxic conditions. As a derivative of sunitinib, EMAC4017 is designed to function as a multi-targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor, potentially overcoming the high resistance to chemotherapy typically associated with pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
