emapalumab + glucocorticosteroid

**Emapalumab + glucocorticosteroid** is a combination regimen used primarily for the treatment of hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), especially in pediatric patients who are unresponsive or intolerant to standard therapy. Emapalumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody that selectively binds and neutralizes interferon gamma (IFNγ), a cytokine known to drive pathological immune activation in HLH. The addition of a glucocorticosteroid, typically dexamethasone, addresses inflammation and immune hyperactivity by broad immunosuppression. This combination is under investigation as a first-line therapy in HLH and is also explored for secondary HLH and macrophage activation syndrome (MAS). Emapalumab was developed by NovImmune and further developed and marketed by Sobi; it is approved in some regions for primary HLH.
