Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**EMC-101** is an adeno-associated viral serotype 8 empty vector capsid that contains no DNA payload. It was developed by Selecta Biosciences and AskBio for use as a research and clinical immunogenicity tool in the SEL-399 program, where it is administered with ImmTOR to study whether ImmTOR can suppress or prevent formation of anti-AAV8 neutralizing antibodies and thereby support potential redosing strategies for AAV gene therapies. EMC-101 is not a conventional therapeutic drug with an intrinsic pharmacologic target or encoded transgene; rather, it is a biologic viral capsid construct used to model immune responses to AAV8 capsids in healthy volunteers and inform gene therapy development.
