EME-08 is a preclinical-stage single-domain antibody fragment, specifically a humanized VHH (nanobody), being developed by Epsilon Molecular Engineering for the treatment of thrombocytopenia. VHH antibodies are derived from camelid heavy-chain-only antibodies and are characterized by their small size (~14 kDa), high stability, and ability to bind to unique, hard-to-reach epitopes such as protein clefts. EME-08 was discovered using Epsilon Molecular Engineering's proprietary high-throughput screening platform, 'The Month,' which combines cDNA display technology with their artificial humanized VHH library (PharmaLogical® Library) to rapidly identify high-affinity therapeutic candidates.
