Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Emollient Plus cream is a medical device developed by Dr Irena Eris S.A. for the management of atopic dermatitis (AD). It belongs to a new generation of 'Emollients Plus,' which combine traditional occlusive and moisturizing agents with non-pharmacological active ingredients to target the pathophysiology of AD. The formulation specifically contains oligofructans extracted from Ophiopogon japonicus and the synthetic peptide acetyl heptapeptide-4. These ingredients are intended to restore the skin barrier and modulate the skin microbiome. Clinical and in vitro studies have demonstrated its safety and efficacy in reducing AD symptoms such as erythema, pruritus, skin thickening, and exudative lesions, while improving sleep quality in both pediatric and adult patients.
