EMP2 IgG1 is a fully human monoclonal IgG1 antibody directed against epithelial membrane protein-2 (EMP2), a tetraspan protein highly upregulated in several cancers, notably invasive and triple-negative breast cancer as well as endometrial carcinoma. The antibody specifically binds EMP2, inhibiting its function, which leads to blockade of downstream signaling pathways implicated in tumor proliferation and invasion (including FAK/Src) and direct induction of cancer cell apoptosis. Anti-EMP2 IgG1 also elicits antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), contributing to antitumor activity. Developed for oncologic applications, it demonstrates preclinical efficacy in reducing tumor load in xenograft and syngeneic models, with a favorable safety profile and no overt toxicity in animal studies[1][2][3][4][5].
