Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Voreta Plus is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product containing **empagliflozin** and **metformin hydrochloride**, developed and marketed by Scotmann Pharmaceuticals. Empagliflozin is a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor that works by reducing renal glucose reabsorption and increasing urinary glucose excretion. Metformin is a biguanide that lowers blood glucose levels by decreasing hepatic glucose production, decreasing intestinal absorption of glucose, and improving insulin sensitivity by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization. This combination is indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control in adults, typically as an adjunct to diet and exercise.
