Overview

EN3342 is a long-acting subcutaneous implant of risperidone developed for the treatment of schizophrenia. It utilizes the MedLaunch implant technology, which consists of a non-biodegradable, flexible polyurethane-based reservoir designed to provide continuous, near zero-order release of risperidone over a six-month period. Risperidone is an atypical antipsychotic that acts as an antagonist at dopamine D2 and serotonin 5-HT2A receptors. Originally developed by Endo Pharmaceuticals, the program was acquired by Braeburn Pharmaceuticals in 2015 and redesignated as BB0817. The implant technology aims to improve patient compliance by providing consistent medication levels and reducing the burden of daily dosing.
