This is a combination of three pharmaceutical agents: - **Enalapril** is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor used primarily for the treatment of hypertension and heart failure. It works by inhibiting the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, leading to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. - **Valsartan** is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that also treats hypertension and heart failure by blocking the effects of angiotensin II at its receptor, resulting in vasodilation and decreased aldosterone secretion. - **Methylprednisone** (commonly referred to as methylprednisolone) is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. It acts by modulating gene expression through binding to glucocorticoid receptors. There are no known approved fixed-dose combinations or branded products containing all three agents together. The combination would theoretically provide antihypertensive effects from enalapril and valsartan, while methylprednisone would be used for its anti-inflammatory or immunosuppressive actions. However, concurrent use may reduce the antihypertensive efficacy due to steroid-induced sodium retention[1][2][3].
