Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Encore (安柯瑞) is a recombinant human adenovirus type 5 injection, genetically engineered with deletions in the E1B-55kD and E3 regions. This oncolytic virus is designed to selectively infect and replicate within tumor cells, leading to their direct lysis while sparing healthy tissues. Beyond direct tumor cell destruction, Encore also stimulates the host's anti-tumor immune response, contributing to its therapeutic effect. Developed in China, it was approved in 2005 by the CFDA for the treatment of advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
