Overview
Encover is a liquid enteral nutrition product developed and marketed by JW Jungwoo Pharmaceutical (a subsidiary of JW Pharmaceutical). It is a specialized nutritional formula designed for patients who are unable to maintain adequate oral intake or who have impaired digestion or absorption. Encover provides a balanced profile of essential macronutrients, including proteins (typically casein and soy protein), carbohydrates (maltodextrin), and fats, along with a comprehensive range of vitamins and minerals. It is particularly indicated for the nutritional management of patients with inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease, as well as for post-operative recovery and patients requiring tube feeding. In the South Korean market, it is often regulated as a prescription (ethical) drug due to its specific medical indications.
