Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Endocalyx is a patented multi-ingredient dietary supplement developed by Microvascular Health Solutions to restore, regenerate, and protect the endothelial glycocalyx—the protective gel-like lining of blood vessel walls. The formulation consists of four key components: glucosamine sulfate (a glycocalyx precursor), fucoidan and high molecular weight hyaluronan (glycocalyx mimetics), and superoxide dismutase (an antioxidant). By addressing the degradation of the glycocalyx, Endocalyx is intended to improve shear stress mechanotransduction and endothelial function, which are often impaired in conditions such as Type 2 Diabetes and cardiovascular disease. It has been evaluated in clinical research, including a VA-sponsored trial, for its potential to enhance vascular adaptations in Veterans with Type 2 Diabetes.
