EndoCem is a premixed calcium silicate-based cement developed by Maruchi (Korea), primarily utilized in endodontic procedures such as vital pulp therapy (VPT). It is designed to be biocompatible and bioactive, promoting the formation of a reparative dentin bridge when applied directly to exposed dental pulp tissue. The material's high pH provides antimicrobial properties, while the release of calcium ions facilitates the mineralization process necessary for pulp healing and protection. In clinical research conducted at the British University in Egypt, EndoCem is being evaluated for its efficacy in treating symptomatic irreversible pulpitis in mature permanent teeth, specifically comparing its performance in reducing post-operative pain and achieving long-term clinical success against other calcium silicate cements like Biodentine.
