Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EndoClot is a polysaccharide-based hemostatic powder system designed for the management of gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding. Developed by EndoClot Plus, Inc., the system utilizes Absorbable Modified Polymers (AMP) derived from purified plant starch. When applied to a bleeding site via an endoscopic applicator, the AMP particles rapidly dehydrate the blood, concentrating platelets, red blood cells, and clotting proteins to accelerate the natural physiological clotting process. Additionally, the powder forms a gel-like adhesive matrix that acts as a mechanical barrier to protect the wound from gastric acid and promote mucosal healing. It is primarily used for controlling non-variceal upper and lower GI hemorrhages and for the prevention of re-bleeding after procedures like Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD).
