endolysin gel

Endolysin gel is a topical therapeutic formulation containing bacteriophage-derived endolysin enzymes, specifically developed for the treatment of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis. Endolysins are highly specific hydrolases that target and degrade the peptidoglycan layer of the bacterial cell wall, leading to rapid osmotic lysis of the pathogen. In the context of atopic dermatitis, this gel is designed to selectively eliminate *Staphylococcus aureus*, a bacterium that frequently colonizes the skin of patients and exacerbates inflammatory symptoms, while preserving the beneficial commensal skin flora. The drug is currently being evaluated in clinical trials, such as those sponsored by Shenzhen Qianhai Shekou Free Trade Zone Hospital, to assess its safety and efficacy in reducing disease severity and improving skin barrier function in adults.
