Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Endomethasone N is a zinc oxide–eugenol-based root canal sealer containing hydrocortisone acetate (1%), barium sulfate, magnesium stearate, and thymol iodide, developed by Septodont for use in endodontic procedures. The hydrocortisone acetate acts as an anti-inflammatory agent by diffusing through the root apex after endodontic treatment, reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines (such as Interleukin-6 and TNFα) and decreasing the adhesion and migration of inflammatory cells, thereby lowering both spontaneous and masticatory post-endodontic pain. The formulation is radiopaque (due to barium sulfate) and designed for permanent root canal filling and sealing, with effective sealing and dimensional stability[1][3][5].
