Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Endomethasone SP RCS is a zinc oxide-eugenol based root canal sealer developed by Septodont for the permanent obturation of root canals in endodontic procedures. It is a hydrocortisone-free formulation, distinguishing it from Endomethasone N, which contains corticosteroids. The product is typically supplied as a powder and liquid that are mixed to form a paste. The powder contains zinc oxide, barium sulfate (for radiopacity), magnesium stearate, and thymol iodide (an antiseptic), while the liquid consists of eugenol. Endomethasone SP RCS provides a dimensionally stable seal within the endodontic space and maintains antimicrobial properties through the inclusion of thymol iodide, while avoiding the potential side effects associated with local corticosteroid application.
