Overview

Endometrin is a brand-name vaginal insert containing micronized progesterone, a naturally occurring steroid hormone essential for establishing and maintaining pregnancy. It is used as part of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) programs to support embryo implantation and early pregnancy by supplementing corpus luteal function in infertile women. Progesterone transforms the endometrium from a proliferative to a secretory state, increasing its receptivity for embryo implantation and supporting early gestation. Endometrin is administered intravaginally at 100 mg two or three times daily, typically starting the day after oocyte retrieval and continuing for up to 10 weeks[1][2][3][6]. The product is only available as a brand-name medication; no generic equivalent exists[1].
