Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Endostar (recombinant human endostatin) is a biologic anti-angiogenic agent developed by Simcere Pharmaceutical. It is a 20 kDa fragment of type XVIII collagen that inhibits tumor growth by targeting vascular endothelial cells, inhibiting their migration and proliferation, and promoting vascular normalization. In the clinical trial conducted by Zhejiang Cancer Hospital, Endostar is combined with physician's choice chemotherapy (typically taxane-based) for the treatment of HER-2 negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer. This combination therapy aims to improve the delivery and efficacy of cytotoxic agents by stabilizing the tumor microenvironment and enhancing the antitumor effects of chemotherapy.
