Overview

Endostat is a recombinant human endostatin, an endogenous 20-kDa protein fragment derived from the C-terminus of collagen XVIII. It acts as a potent inhibitor of angiogenesis by interfering with the pro-angiogenic signaling of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and binding to endothelial cell surface receptors such as integrins and glypicans. This inhibition leads to reduced endothelial cell proliferation, migration, and increased apoptosis, ultimately suppressing tumor growth and metastasis by limiting the tumor's blood supply. In clinical trials, Endostat is often administered via continuous intravenous infusion, frequently in combination with immunotherapy or chemotherapy, for the treatment of various advanced solid tumors.
